The main parameters of the the special LED display chip and development status
4/26/2012LED display chip has the basic characteristics of the lagre and constant current, which is suitable for the place where require high current and high quality image, such as outdoor full color LED display, indoor full color LED display, etc. Key performance parameters of the LED display special chip have maximum output current, constant-current source of outputs, the current output error and data shift clock.
1. Maximum output current
Maximum output current of mainstream constant current LED chip is defined single-channel maximum output current, usually about 90mA. Current constant is the basic characteristics of the the special LED chip, which is also the basis of high quality. Each channel of maximum constant current output have more meaningful to LED display. While in the white balance mode, each channel output constant current is simultaneously. The maximum constant current output is less than the maximum allowable output current.
2. Constant current output channels
Constant current output have 8 amd 16 channels, and 16 channels current output is mainstream. Its main advantage is to reduce the chip size, easy to wire on PCB, especial for smaller spacing LED driver board.
3. The current output error
There have two kinds of current output error, one is a bit current error, which is each channel current output error. The current output error is a very critical parameter, it influence the uniformity of the display. Greater error, worse uniformity of the LED display. The mainstream LED chip current error are generally within 60%.
4. Data shift clock
The data shift clock determine the display data transmission speed, it is the key indicators of the impact of the display update rate. As a large-size LED display, the display refresh rate at 85Hz or more, in order to ensure stability of the screen. The higher data shift clock is the basis of the obtain a high refresh rate image. Mainstream constant current source driver IC shift clock frequency generally above 15MHz.
