The issues of full color LED display design and production
6/1/2012Like other products, LED display will inevitably encounter problems and precautions in use. When design and production of full color LED display, there may ve have following eight problems.
1. Thermal design
LED display will generate heat in working, high temperature will affect the decay rate and stability of the LED, so the thermal design of the PCB board and cabinet ventilation design will affect the performance of the LED display.
2. Mixed light
The LED with different brightness in same color need mixed light, or insert lights in accordance with the discrete law, in order to ensure the consistency of the each color brightness in LED screen. If this process have problems, there will be have local brightness inconsistencies,
3. Current value design
The nominal current of LED is 20mA, generally recommended that the maximum current does not exceed 80% of the nominal value, especially for small spacing LED display, due to poor cooling conditions, it need reduce the current value. Based on experience, due to the inconsistency of attenuation speed of red, green, blue LED. In a targeted manner to reduce the current value of the blue and green LED, in order to maintain the white balance.
4. Drive circuit design
The arrangement of the driver board on the display modulewill also affect the brightness of the LED display. Driver IC output current on the PCB transmission distance too far, which will make the transmission path pressure drop is too large, affecting the normal operating voltage of the LED lead to decrease in brightness. Therefore, to ensure the consistency of the brightness of the LED display, it is necessary to design the drive circuit maps.
5. The vertical of LED light
Insert LED need enough technology to ensure the LED perpendicular to the PCB board. Any deviation will affect LED brightness uniformity.
6. Welding control
When the LED does not light on the screen, it often caused by welding. It need to improve the process and strengthen the quality inspection.
