What Is The Tessera S8?
The Tessera S8 is an LED processor developed by Brompton Technology. It is a perfect choice for high-end projects that do not require output capacity but still want Brompton’s industry-leading Tessera flexibility features set. Also, you may use and apply it with easy-to-use software to produce stunning results.
Apart from the SX40, the S8, as a mid-range processor, also supports Brompton’s Tessera processing features. That includes the HDR, Dynamic Calibration, Ultra-low Latency, HFR+ or High Frame Rate, Frame Remapping, Shuttersync, and 3D Lut import. The S8 also supports the OSCA or On-Screen Color Adjustment to achieve seam corrections, Dark Magic for dark-area detail, and ChromaTune for color control.
It offers 4K60 input support with eight 1G outputs, each capable of 525k pixels at 60 Hz, 8 bits per color, and a zero-latency up/down scaler.
It has the following powerful options;
- Quick Association
- Pixel Mapping
- Sub-fixture Support
What Are Its Features?
Here are the Tessera S8 features;
- HDR
The Tessera S8 processor can automatically detect and handle HDR content. It accepts HDR video at up to 12 bits per color. Its system can seamlessly switch between SDR, PQ, and HLG without interference. The HDR function is supported at all resolution and frame rates in both commonly used HDR formats (PQ(ST-2084) and HLG).
Also, all of the features of the Tessera S8 are available for HDR content, thus, ensuring its fully-upgraded and on-point performance. Furthermore, the HDR is exclusive to R2-based panels undergoing Dynamic Calibration.
- Ultra-low Latency
This feature provides a latency-minimizing solution for the broadcast, television, and film industries. It helps you easily synchronize live actions with visual effects and virtual sets, such as in the case of XR LED screens. The Tessera S8 processor is already equipped with an industry-leading two frames and end-to-end latency.
- High Frame Rate
A higher frame rate considers the power to play video content at up to 250 fps (frames per second). When frame rates are high, it gives users and viewers a smoother visual in eSports and simulator applications using HFR content. Because of its high frame rate, it also makes sit possible to shoot slow-motion visual effects with over-cranked cameras against LED screens and retain accurate synchronization between screen and camera.
- Closed Loop Redundancy
With its eight 1G Ethernet output ports, the Tessera S8 allows you to operate a total HD output with close loop redundancy. You may create the cabling loops from the primary port and then back to the processor with a string of fixtures; in cases such as a lost signal or error, the backup port controls and re-allocates institutions to use the backup feed.
